Amazing Egyptian vacations
A totally unique vacation experience in a lifetime to not forsake is a river Nile cruise. It is only since recent years that such a trip or to say better, such a voyage has become less than an adventurous expedition. Today, if some of the best Nile destinations can be reached directly by regular flights or charters from just about any corner of the world, it clearly is once in Egypt, all the more magical to reach them at the same sedate pace as it always has been since many thousands of years. The essential difference is of course the standards, the security and the exquisite comfort of these riverboats. Imagine awaking in the early morning, seeing and hearing from the window of your own private cabin worthy of the finest taste, the sounds and colours of that river that have barely changed over the ages. Every conceivable amenity from the top deck swimming pool, surrounded by its own private garden, to the quality restaurant on the lower floor are present for you to ease the hours by from one awe-inspiring amazement to the next. Every stop, of whichever cruise you have chosen to take, is in itself worthy of your choice. They all have, from Cairo to Abou Simbel close to the Sudan border, a history that reaches deeply into biblical times, and yet or maybe thereby have maintained that aura of mystery that may well haunt the most pragmatic of your cruise companions. A return to Cairo from the upper Nile can prove to be a four-day adventure in itself if the choice is to travel deep into the ever-changing desert landscapes west of the Nile and thereby plunging into the foreboding hart of an authentic Egypt in the times of the Pharaohs. It is maybe a remaining gift from one of the hundred Gods that the ancient Egyptians worshipped, which makes these cruises and expeditions possible near to all year round. Unless the desert summer heat that soars to above 40°C (110°F) is to your appreciation, it is advisable to avoid the July and August months. Cairo and Alexandria have by themselves all the museums, history and culture to entertain the more discerning traveller for weeks. The Red sea coast boasts of condominiums for the best beach vacations, underwater diving and water sports, and some are only a days’ travel away into Jordan for a visit to one of the said eighth wonders of the world namely; the red rose city of Petra.
