River cruising in Europe.

A unique perspective that probably beats all others by the shear beauty and natural surroundings for visiting many parts of Europe is by travelling its many rivers. All of the major European rivers cater for huge sections amenable to boat navigation. Since centuries these rivers were and still are industrial’s economical highways, therefore it is not a surprise that just about every major city throughout Europe has its origins set along them.

The Danube, the Seine, in Germany, France or Portugal are only a few to mention that host for a variety of cruises of three to a lengthy fourteen days along their respective rivers and theme for different aspects or interests along their meandering course.

The Rhone river in southern France from Lyons through the valley that separates the Alps from the Massif Central all along to the Mediterranean sea proposes many options from a scenic cruise to a wine discovery as well as on land visits of famous towns such as Avignon with its papal palace, residency of seven successive Popes during the 14’th century.

The Blue Danube, albeit that blue bears its origins from J. Strauss’s waltz, will optionally cruise the traveler from Budapest in Hungary trough Austria to Passau in Germany during a seven day discovery of Europe’s cultural and imperial epitome.

These fabulous three hundred foot river cruise boats all provide for sumptuous onboard residencies equal to the best of hotels, meals according to the finest of their regional gourmets traditions they travel through, and even provide for top deck swimming pools on the Portuguese and Spanish rivers. For all of these itineraries, return amenities are all foreseen too, where the cruise to be a one way journey.

From Amsterdam to Berlin, through and along eight countries down the Danube from Germany to the Black sea, Europe’s rivers are seemingly set to meander through the best in all it has to offer in architecture, history, and culture.
